The Minister of State for Interior Affairs H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani inaugurated the new security printing press building of the Ministry. Addressing the function, director of the Logistics Department of the Ministry, Brig Eng Abdul Azeez Abdullah Al Ansari described the security printing press project as a quantum leap from the world of field security to the world of technical security.
He added that the aim of establishing the printing press is to protect publications that need to be secure, whether in the public or private sector. The press will be employed to print all documents, checks and bonds, certificates and property deeds, to ensure its security not to be tampered with or forged. In addition, it will also print various types of magnetic stripe cards. The project will be supervised by a consultant authorised by global credit card issuers (Visa – Master card) to ensure the implementation of the project according to required specifications.
The Director of SISTRADE, Paulo do Souto, attended this inauguration representing SISTRADE and commented that “the certification of all the processes will be the next step, and MIS is the key for the management and control of process certification. According to what we have seen and discussed, we believe that SISTRADE could have an important role in future of this project, through our system, technology and consulting services”.
